You use the MegaMover® all the time and know everything there is to know about how versatile, maneuverable and convenient it is. Right? BUT, there may be some things you don’t know about it or didn’t even think to ask.
Did You Know That …..
MegaMover® is the original specially designed and manufactured flexible patient transport unit. Previously EMS personnel had to use anything they could grab hold of - shirt sleeves, pant legs, sheets, blankets, folding chairs, etc. - to move victims/patients out of places where rigid metal stretchers could not go. These items were unstable or subject to tearing which is why the MegaMover® transport unit was developed.
MegaMover® Select was developed as the result of a request by an EMS professional to address specific issues encountered in the field when different handle lengths are beneficial. The MegaMover® Select allows first responders to “select” the handle grip length most appropriate to the responders height and the terrain being traversed.
The MegaMover® Transport Chair is so small and compact that it can be rolled up to the size of a water bottle. It only weighs 10 ounces yet it can support 350 pounds carried by four rescuers with eight hand grips.
The MegaMover® transport units are made by Graham Medical which also makes a full line of disposable medical products and other EMS specific infection prevention items like the Quick Shield™ Barrier Towel, various EMS blankets and also fitted sheets.
At Graham Medical, we are the First Responders First Choice when it comes to infection prevention and patient transportation. In that regard, we are continuing our efforts to support the needs of first responders by developing new products for different uses like a new Active Shooter MegaMover®.
All the while we will continue to provide the patient transport units with the strength, consistency and convenience you have come to rely on.
In addition, we will now be providing an educational resource to address various operational, regulatory and clinical issues that impact your professional lives. We will be doing this through a new blog series that will also invite your responses and participation. You can subscribe to this new blog site by clicking on the button below.
