72657-active-shooter_cropped-600x480EMS personnel recently responded to a survey about their experience with their MegaMover® Transport Unit (or units). As we had hoped, they reported that the MegaMover® made providing emergency medical care easier.

Respondents were most impressed with 5 aspects of the product:
  1. It is durable and well-made
  2. It can be used in tight spaces
  3. It makes lifting patients easier
  4. It is easy to use
  5. It is compact for easy storage.
Durable and Well-Made

Users were impressed with how durable and well-constructed the MegaMover® is.

I think it is well constructed for a device that has an impressive lifting capacity and yet is disposable. The product is very well constructed of high quality material to hold up to the workload and environment of emergency services.”

“Exactly what I wanted! Durable and user friendly.”

Tight Spaces

The MegaMover®, can be used when a rigid stretcher can’t—this is actually more common than you might think. Rigid stretchers can be difficult or impossible to use in many situations, including stairways, narrow hallways, tight passages, rough terrain, flooded areas and in situations requiring quick deployment and transportation to safety (think active shooter). Users were excited to see how easy they could transport patients with the MegaMover® in locations and conditions that were nearly impossible before.

“We are a National Historical monument displaying WWII ships and submarines. We have proven that the product is reliable to evacuate or transport patients from very tight spaces when other products do not work. Very functional in any situation.”

“It's a very versatile tool for EMS. …we find ourselves in cramped quarters, narrow areas, or steep staircases that we cannot access with a wheeled stretcher. This device allows for that access and provides a way to safely move a patient without completely putting the patient or the responders’ safety in jeopardy.”

“We have hiking trails and a bike trail through town, which aren't accessible by vehicle. The stokes basket is cumbersome, making the mega mover the perfect tool for extricating patients out of such areas.”

Takes the Pain Out of Lifting Patients

The nonwoven, latex-free construction holds up to 1000 lbs. and has 14 handles for ergonomic lifting and added maneuverability at corners and doorways. You can even get one with PowerGrip™ handles for added comfort and durability. Users definitely could feel the difference.

The multiple handles make this MegaMover® much more user friendly. The more people who can help, the easier it is on everyone. Not to mention much faster!”

“Transport patients from the ground to stretcher with minimal strain on staff and the patient.”

“Makes the move of a patient not only easy but safe for both the patient and the crew.”

Easy to Use

This product is easy to use. Just follow the instructions provided; the process involves unrolling the fabric, rolling the person onto the MegaMover™, securing them, and then beginning transport. Users noticed how easy it is to use, as well.

“It is very user friendly and easily deployable rapidly for quick patient extrication if needed.”

“Very functional in any situation.”

Compact for Easy Storage

All of the MegaMover® Transport Units made by Graham Medical are compact and can be easily stored and deployed. The MegaMover® Transport Chair, for example, is so small and compact that it can be rolled up to the size of a water bottle. It only weighs 10 ounces yet it can support 350 pounds carried by four rescuers with eight handgrips. Users loved how little space their MegaMover® took up—freeing up space for other items!

It is very compact to fit in different areas needed.”

“Really like that it folds up so small and is lightweight with all those extra handles. Great product.”

“I like the fact that it does not take up much space at all in the vehicle, which for fire departments on vehicles space is important.”
